About us
A manning agency run by people who have sailed.
We are a manning and crew management agency staffed by master mariners and chief engineers. We put properly certificated people on ships, we audit how those ships are run, and we teach the competencies a certificate assumes you already have. We say what we find and we quote what it costs.
Purpose
What we are for.
Our mission
To be the manning agency an owner can rely on without checking the crew list twice. Every seafarer we supply meets the international STCW requirements for ship manning and administration — that standard is the floor we start from, not the target we aim at, and the habits of quality and efficiency we work to are built on it.
Our vision
Crew management done properly: client care, ethics and professionalism carried by real management policies, real training and qualifications that are genuinely held. The quality of a crew shows up directly in how a ship performs — so we search hard for officers and ratings, select them carefully, and keep looking after them once they have joined.
The Captain’s Academy is a training division of Aastranova Maritime OPC Private Limited — so the training and crewing work sits alongside a working maritime company rather than apart from it.
How a ship performs comes back to the people standing on it.
Why choose us
Five things we will not compromise on.
Taught by people who sailed
Our instructors are master mariners and chief engineers with years on tankers, bulk carriers and container ships. What they teach is what they did.
Practical before theoretical
Every session is built around work a seafarer will do on the next voyage. Participants leave able to do the job, not just describe it.
Certification that counts
Our programs lead to industry-recognized certification — the kind that holds up in front of an owner, a charterer and a port state inspector.
International standards, Indian crew
We work to international best practice while understanding what Indian officers and ratings actually face — in recruitment, at sea and ashore.
Learning that does not stop at the certificate
Ranks change, rules change, ships change. We keep the crews we place in touch with the training that keeps them current.
Next step
Tell us what you need crewed, audited or trained.
Send the vessel particulars, the ranks you need or the course you are after. The reply comes from a master mariner or a chief engineer, and it will not be a brochure.
